Born on the 30th July 1885, the birth being registered during the September
quarter 1885 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/179, the son of James Henry &
Emily Hamnett (nee Lees).

His father - James Hamnett died in 1887, aged: 37.

Baguley.   Head of househpold - Emily Hamnett - Widow - aged: 43 - occ:
Charwoman - born: Timperley.   Plus 2 elder siblings.

1901 Census - Thorley Lane, Timperley.   Son - aged: 16 - occ: Gardener
(Domestic) - born: Baguley.   Head of househpold - Emily Hamnett - Widow -
aged: 53 - occ: Laundress - born: Timperley.   Plus 2 elder siblings.

1911 Census - H.M.S. Pembroke, Medway, Kent (a shore based ship).   Able
Seaman - aged: 25 - born: Baguley, Cheshire.

Married Lillian C. Raftery during the March quarter 1913 in the Medway R.D.
- ref: 2a/1169.

Served in the RN for 13½ years.  He had previously served on H.M.S.
"Victorious".

Arthur died of Cerebral Spinal Fever at the RN Hospital, Chatham.

Death reported in the 05/03/1915 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

Buried at Gillingham on the 22/02/1915.

The R.N. Casualty List record his widow - Lillian Hamnett as residing at 47
Sydney Road, Chatham, Kent.

His widow married an Arthur Hannant in 1917 and they resided at 10
Fonblanque Rd,  Marine Town,  Sheerness, Kent.
