Born in 1896, the younger son of Arthur W.H. & Alice Lovell, 33 Edge Lane,
Chorlton cum Hardy, Manchester.

Attended Wadham House School, Hale & Bowdon College.

Enlisted in the 2st Bn. Royal Fusiliers as a Private and was drafted to the
front in November 1915.  After 5 months in the trenches, he returned to the
UK to qualify for a commission.

Having obtained his commission in the RFC, he returned to France as an
Observer on the 7th April 1917 and was killed four days later on the 11th,
whilst flying over enemy territory.   A message confirming his death was
later (17/09/1917) dropped from a German aircraft.

Death reported in the 19/10/1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

Not mentioned in any of the RFC Communiqués.

Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1918.
