ref:8c/686, the youngest son of George & Alice Jane Heath (nee Allmark).

servants.

1901 Census - 84 Talbot Road, Stretford.   Son - aged: 11 - born: Salford. 
 Head of household - George Heath - Married - aged: 41 - occ: Commission
Agent - born: Stffordshire.   Also Alice J. Heath - Wife - aged: 38 - born:

Alice G. Heath - Wife - aged: 49 - born: Salford.   Plus 2 elder siblings.

According to Ray Westlake's book, "British Battalions at Gallipoli", the
1/6th Battalion, Manchester Regiment were part of the 125th Brigade, 42nd
(East Lancashire) Division.   On the 1st August 1915, the Battalion
relieved the 8th Manchesters in the firing line, east of Krithia, Nullah. 
In turn, on the 4th, they were relieved by the 8th Battalion on the 4th. 
They took part in amn attack on Trenches G12A, G13, G11A and G12D on the
7th  It was reported at 10.50 hrs that the first and second assaults were
successful on Trench G10A and held.   Following a heavy counter attack they
were forced to fall back at 19.15 hrs having suffered heavy losses, one of
whom was Herbert.
