Married Mary Ellen (Nellie) Brookes, during the March quarter 1916 in the
Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/343, the daughter of John Frederick & Hannah
Brookes.  Mary was born at Sale in 1891.  In 1911, she was listed as a
Domestic Servant, residing with her grandmother at 193 Northenden Road,
Sale.

Employed at the Stretford Gas Works.

MIC - states that he received only the BWM & VM.   Indicating that he did
not go to France until 1916.

SDGW states that he died of wounds.  Stretford Cemetery records state that
he died at King George Hospital, Lambeth, London, which together with the
family grave M.I. would indicate that he died of wounds received in combat
in France.  Buried 02/11/1916 by Messrs. H. Clegg & Sons, City Road,
Chester (???) - Burial No. 7,800.

Death reported in the 03/11/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guardian, which
simply reports that he died in hospital.
