Born during the September quarter 1895 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/739, the son of John & Mary Blease (nee Killduff). 1901 Census - 102 Lacy Street, Stretford. Son - aged: 5 - born: Stretford. Head of household - John Blease - Married - aged: 41 - occ: House Painter - born: Rostherne, Cheshire. Also - Mary Blease - Wife - aged: 40 - occ: Laundress - born: Barton upon Irwell. Plus 3 siblings. 1911 Census - 4 Crosford Street, Stretford. Son - aged: 15 -occ: Tramway Messenger - born: Barton upon Irwell. Head of household - John Blease - Married - aged: 51 - occ: House Painter - born: Rostherne, Cheshire. Also - Mary Blease - Wife - aged: 50 - occ: Laundress - born: Barton upon Irwell. Plus 1 sister and a niece. Married - Annie Whitney during the September quarter 1915 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/2114. MIC - Posted to France on the 20th December 1915. Awarded the 1915 Star, the BWM & VM. The local newspaper states that he lived at Model Cottages, Broad Rd, Sale. Cenotaph lists name as H. Blease. Commemorated on the private family gravestone in Stretford Cemetery. M.I. - "A cruel blow, a shock severe, to lose the one, I love so dear". French M.I. - "At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them". His widow - Annie Blease, later resided at 17 Crossford Street, Stretford, she died 20/09/1946, aged: 64. |
