Born during the March quarter 1924 in the Bath R.D. - ref: 5c/728, the eldest son of George & Grace Robbins (nee Foster). Attended Sale High School. A keen member of the Springfield Youth Club and a very good swimmer. Then after the family moved to the south-west, he attended the Kingswood School, Bath. 1939 National Registration - "Padleigh", Beeston Road, Sale. George W. Robbins - Married - born: 29th February 1896 - occ: Civil Engineer & Director of Companies. There are four redacted records at this address - one of which is undoubtedly Donald. [There were four children - Donald O - Christopher G - Patricia A. - Ann F]. Lilian Foster - Married - born: 5th July 1872 - occ: Invalid. Died in an accident whilst under training as a pilot at No. 22 Air Training School, Vereeniging. The town also contained a military hospital. Death reported in the 08/10/1943 edition of the Sale & Stretford Guardian. Parents late of Sale, now live in Bristol.
