A Wireless Operator/AirGunner, he joined the RAF in 1937 and Coastal
Command in 1939.

His body was washed ashore at Pellworm, a small island off the coast of
Schleswig-Holstein.

Had three other brothers in the forces, two of whom were lost - Eng/Officer
Bernard was lost at sea in September 1940; Petty Officer Joseph Arnold was
lost on H.M.S. "Exeter in March 1942; His eldest brother, G.A. was on the
RAF's Officers' Medical Staff.

Listed on the 7th Sale Scouts War Memorial, Clarenden Road, Sale.
