The "Aguilla" was built in 1917, it's gross register tonnage was 3,255, it
was 315 feet long, 44 feet wide and could make 12.5 knots.

A cargo ship, it was one of 4 ships operated by the Yeoward Line, 24 James
St, Liverpool 2 and 60 Haymarket, London SW1.   It could accommodate 150 -
1st class passengers.

Part of Convoy OG71, comprising 21 ships sailing from Liverpool to
Gibraltar and Lisbon carrying 91 passengers and 1,288 tons of general
cargo, including mail.   When south-west of Ireland - WSW of Fastnet Rock,
she was torpedoed by U-201 on the 19/08/41 and sunk in position - 49.23N
17.56W.   There were 10 survivors, who were rescued by H.M. Corvette
"Wallflower" and landed at Gibraltar, but 89 passengers and 8 crew were
lost.    Six other crew were rescued by the tug "Empire Oak", but they were
lost when that was sunk by U-564 three days later - 156 crew/passengers
being lost on that.

Another source states that the ship was named "Aquila", but that was sunk
in 1916.
