in Manchester.   Member of the Sale Harriers Athletics Club.

Joined the RAF in 1940 and was sent to Miami, Florida for training as a
Navigator.

He had been a member of the first 1,000 bomber raid over Germany and had
been involved in bombing raids over Turin & Genoa.

Flying with 115 Sqn, they took off at 1349hrs from R.A.F. Mildenhall,
Suffolk, in a Wellington Mk.III, No. BJ660 KO-H, on a bombing operation
over Essen. They were lost without trace and are commemorated at Runnymede.
 Total losses 5 crew.
