Attended Springfield Senior School. Apprenticed to a firm of Printers in Sale. Member of the Sale Boys' Club and a keen table tennis player. Joined the RAF in Agust 1941. Wireless Op. He had been on 15 Ops. Flying with 207 Sqn, they took off at 1711hrs from R.A.F. Spilsby, Lincolnshire, in a Lancaster Mk.III, No. ND510 EM-E on a bombing operation over Berlin. The aircraft was lost without trace. The 7 crew members are commemorated at Runnymede. The 09/02/1945 edition of the local newspaper reports that he is now presumed dead. |
