came to this country c1894.

His parents and 4 siblings were then residing at 95 Larkhill Blackburn,
Lancashire.

WO 363 - Listed as Solomon Blain, he enlisted at Preston on the 20th April
1900.   He stated that he had been born in Backburn, which was not true. 
Residing at 46 Alma Street, Blackburn.  Aged: 17 years, his occupation
given as a Traveller.  He was 5 feet 4 inches in height and weighed 115 lb.
 His chest measurements were 33 to 35 inches.   He had a Fresh complexion,
Grey eyes and Brown Hair.  Religion - C. of E.

Commemorated on the private family gravestone in the Jewish Cemetery,
Urmston.

His father, Aaron David died 19/02/1920 aged 58 years.
