Born during the September quarter 1894 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. -
ref: 8c/662, the youngest son of Peter & Mary Parker Higson (nee Jarman).

aged: 38 - born: Manchester.   Plus 3 elder siblings and a maternal uncle.

Timperley Football Club and was Captain of Broadheath Cricket Club.

MIC - Enlisted in the King's Shropshire Light Infantry No. 204519 in
January 1917.  BWM & Victory only, no other info.

WO363 - Listed as Harry Higson.  Residing at 115 Manchester Road when he
enlisted on the 20th May 1917.   Aged 21 years 4 months.  Height 5 feet 3½
inches - Chest measurement 33½ with a 2 inch expansion.  Religion:
Congregational.   Embarked at Southampton on the 31st March 1918.   Arrived
at the IBD (Infantry Base Depot) at Rouen, France and posted into the 1/4th
Battalion, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry.   Transferred into the 15th Bn,
Notts & Derby Rgt on the 9th April 1918. 

Death reported in the 29/10/1918  edition of the Altrincham Guardian and
stated that his parents lived at Bridgewater House, Broadheath.  Post War
they resided at 6 Stanley Mount, Sale.

Listed as Harry Higson on the Altrincham Roll of Honour.   Commemorated on
the Sale Wesleyan Church and the Broadheath Congregational Church
Memorials.  SDGW lists his number as 298169.   Native of Broadheath.

He had one brother in the Army and another that had been discharged from
the Army.
