Son - Martin Corrigan - aged: 7 - Scholar - born: Sale. Head of household - Dominic Corrigan - Married - aged: 45 - occ: General Labourer - born: Ireland. Also - Sarah Corrigan - Wife - aged: 36 - born: Holywell, Denbighshire. Plus 2 younger sisters and two half siblings. 1901 Census - No.3, 3, Court, Hewitt Place, Chapel Road, Sale. Son - Martin Corrigan - aged: 17 - occ: Farm Labourer - born: Sale. Head of household - Dominic Corrigan - Married - aged: 48 - occ: Farm Labourer - born: Ireland. Also - Sarah Corrigan - Wife - aged: 45 - born: Holywell, Denbighshire. Plus 3 younger sisters. Registering himself as James Corrigan, he married Clara Clarke during the December quarter 1909 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/1354. 1911 Census - 9 Greenfield Terrace, Flixton. James Corrigan - Head - Married (one year) - aged: 27 - occ: General Labourer - born: Sale. Also - Clara Corrigan - Wife - aged: 23 - born: Flixton. Plus a niece. Killed in Action with Submarine in English Channel. The Ettrick was a 570 ton Destroyer built in 1909 by Palmers’ SB. & Iron Co., Ltd., Newcastle. It was torpedoed by UC-61, 15 miles SW of Beachy Head, blowing off her bow - 49 men were killed. Listed as J.M. Corrigan on St. Michael's Memorial. Killed in Action with Submarine in English Channel.
