Enlisted in 1915 and had been in much heavy fighting, including the Battle of the Somme in 1916. Died of Pneumonia (presumablby brought on by Influenza ?). Commemorated on the private family gravestone in St. Catherine's, Dumplington. Ref: 3e3 & 210. His father, John died 03/04/1914 aged 67 years and his mother, Hannah died 07/11/1925 aged 68 years. |
