Trafford

Born during the March quarter 1886 in the Salford R.D. - ref: 8d/46, the
4th son of Alfred Bancroft & Sarah Jane Renshaw (nee Egar).

Attended St. Anne's School, Sale Moor and was a Member of the St. Anne's
Christian Brotherhood.

Married Lily Westerby Harrison during the September quarter 1911 in the
Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/432, who was then residing on Northenden Road,
Sale.

Originally employed by Messrs. Plant & Sons, Sale, but laterly represented
a Manchester firm at Rhyl.

Enlisted in September 1917 and was formerly T/291596 Army Service Corps.

Killed instantly by a bursting bomb (mortar) as he was standing on the fire
step of a trench.

Death reported in the 15/03/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

Left a widow and three children.
