Born during the September quarter 1889 in the Altrincham R.D. - 8a/168, the
son of Charles & Elizabeth Braithwaite (nee Barlow, formerly Parry).   His
birth was registered under the name of Frank Leslie Braithwaite.   His
mother was oringinally married to Thomas Henry Parry, who died in 1884,
aged: 39.   She married Charles Braithwaite in the December quarter of
1886.

Emigrated to Australia when he was 21 years of age (1911).    He was 6 feet
tall.

Youngest son of Charles Braithwaite.   Attended St. Anne's School, Sale
Moor, he sang in the choir at St. Anne's Church, Sale Moor and belonged to
the St. Anne's Christian Brotherhood.     He was a leading member of their
gymnastics section, he was a wrestler and a boxer and a member of the
Church Lads Brigade.

Enlisted in August 1914 and served at Gallipoli.

His father Charles Braithwaite, gave the Australian War Memorial his
details and gave the name of Mr. Dowson, Headmaster of St. Ann's School,
Sale, as another reference for information.

Listed F.L. Braithwaite on St. Anne's Mem.    The Australian WMD also lists
him as Francis Leslie Braithwaite.     Only the CWGC lists him as Leslie
Francis Braithwaite ???     The 1915 Sale Directory lists a - Charles
Braithwaite - Market Gardener.    Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll
of Honour for 1918, which lists him as F. Braithwaite.

Death reported in the 17/07/1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian and
comemorated on the family grave in Sale (Brooklands) Cemetery.
