Born during the June quarter 1893 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/210, the
only son of William & Louisa Warrington (nee Knight).

Cheshire.  Head of household - William Warrington - Married - aged: 35 -
occ: ?????? & Gardener (Day) - born: Altrincham.   Also - Louisa Warrington

1911 Census - 86 Marsland Road, Sale.   Son - aged: 18 - occ: Entry Clerk

Employed by Messrs. Rylands & Sons, High St, Manchester.

WO363 - Enlisted into the 17th Battalion, Manchester Regiment at Manchester
on the 2nd September 1914.   Employed as a Warehouseman, he was 5 feet, 10
1/2 inches in height, and weighed 136 lb.  His chest measurements were 32
to 35 inches, with good physical development.   He was promoted as an
unpaid Lance Corporal on the 9th January 1915, but at his own request, he
reverted to Private on the 23rd August 1915.   He was admitted to hospital,
Grantham on the 7th June 1915 suffering from Impetigo - discharged on the
25th June.   Again appointed as an unpaid Lance Corporal on the 28th
September 1916.  Posted as a Private into the 1/6th Bn Manchester Regiment
on the 1st April 1918.

He was wounded at Wancourt on the 194th April 1917, suffering from a Gun
Shot Wound in his chest

Death reported in the 30/08/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian, that
stated he was a Lance Corporal.

Commemorated on the family gravestone in Sale Cemetery.   M.I. - "Greater
love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends".
