Born at Carlton on Trent during the June quarter 1882 in the Southwell R.D.
- ref: 7b/411, the son of John & Annie Lee.

In 1881 his parents resided at 1 Meyrick Road, Newark - John Lee - aged: 36
- of no occupation - born: Weston, Nottinghamshire and Annie his wife -
aged: 36 - born: Bottesford, Leicestershire.  Plus their eldest son - Enoch
Lee - aged: 12 - Scholar born: Newark, Nottinghamshire.

No more is heard of his parents after 1881 and it is believed that they
both died soon after, as John Samuel Lee was raised by William Reavill.

Binder's Labourer - born: Carlton on Trent, Nottinghamshire.   Head of
household - Enoch Page Lee Married - aged: 42 - occ: Jobbing Gardener -
born: Newark, Nottinghamshire.  His eldest brother - Enoch Lee resided here
with his wife - Eliza Lee and their 8 children.

Enlisted in the Manchester Rgt. No. 21670 in 1914.

Died of Pneumonia in Mesopotamia.

Death reported in  the 25/10/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

Listed as J. Samuel Lee on St, Mary's Memorial.
