Born during the December quarter 1888 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/166,
the son of George & Martha Lewis (nee Holmes).

Ashton on Mersey.    Head of household - George Lewis - Married - aged: 46

Attended the Barkers Lane Weslyan School and then the Sale Township School
under the late Mr. Adam Watson.

Employed by the Automobile Association as one of their first mobile
patrolmen, but by 1914 he was employed as a Chauffeur by Mr. Himmers,
Hale.

Married Annie Greenham during the June quarter 1915 in the Altrincham R.D.
- ref: 8a/418.

Enlisted in Manchester and due to his ability with motor engines he was
posted to the Mechanical Transport Service  of the Army Service Corps. 
Posted to France he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal, working as
part of a mobile Xray Unit that was attached to No. 45 C.C.S. (Casualty
Clearing Station), one two C.C.S's based in the village of Achiet.   The
Germans shelled the C.C.S. and Thomas was killed by this shell fire.
