Born during the June quarter 1900 in the Prestwich R.D. - ref: 8d/457, the
eldest son of Louis Jessie & Laura Whiston Circuit (nee Dawson).   Birth
and marriage listed as Circuit (one 't').

1901 Census - 87, Withington Road, Moss Side, Manchester.       Son - aged:
1 - born: Manchester (one 't').    It appears that his mother was employed
as the housekeeper at this house, his father is listed as a Visitor, as is
Arthur.    Louis Jessie Circuit - Visitor - Married - aged: 26 - occ:
Engineers Storekeeper - born: Manchester.    Also - Laura Whiston Circuit -
Servant - Married - aged: 26 - occ: Housekeeper - born: Macclesfield,
Cheshire.

1911 Census - 46 Lincoln Avenue, off Chapel Street, Levenshulme,
Manchester.        Son - aged: 11 - Scholar - born: Harpurhey, Manchester.
(one 't')    Head of Household - Louis Jesse Circuit - Married - aged: 36 -
occ: Engineer's Clerk - born: Macclesfield, Cheshire.    Also - Laura
Whiston Circuit - Wife - aged: 36 - born: Ardwick, Manchester.    Plus 3
younger siblings.

WO363 - Attested on the 12th September 1917, aged: 17 years 6 months.  
Mobilised on the 1st May 1918 and posted to the 53rd (YS) Battalion*
Training Reserve, Cheshire Regiment.  Posted to the 52nd Graduated
Battalion**, Cheshire Regiment on the 15th May 1918    On the 16th June
1918, whilst stationed at Curragh, he fractured the base of his right
parietal bone when he fell from a guard bed in guard room in Epileptic fit
and bled from his mouth.    Admitted to Curragh Hospital semi-conscious and
bleeding from his right ear.  X-ray showed that he had fractured his
parietal bone, right side.    Report stated that he had Epileptic fits on
the 4th July, the 25th July, 4th August and the 11th August and that he had
a history of fits during his youth.    Described on the 20th August 1918 as
"Slow mentality, manner peculiar on occasions, feels fairly well.   Suffers
from Epilepsy.  Fell from bed whilst a member of a guard.  His mental
condition has not improved since admission".    Discharged from the Army on
the 20th September 1918.

*The 53rd (Young Soldier) Battalion, was until the 27th October 1917 known
as 62nd Battalion of the Training Reserve that had formerly been the 12th
(Reserve) Battalion of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.   A basic recruit
training unit based at Kinmel Camp, Rhyl, north Wales, it was part of 14th
Reserve Brigade.

**The 52nd (Graduated) Battalion, was until the 27th October 1917 known as
221st Graduated Battalion and had no regimental affiliation.  Before that
it had been the 61st Battalion of the Training Reserve and up to September
1916 had been the 21st (Reserve) Battalion of the Welsh Regiment.   A
training unit based at the Curragh in Ireland, it was part of 196th Brigade
in 65th (2nd Lowland) Division.   It remained at the Curragh when the
Division was broken up in March 1918.

His Medal Index Card states that he enlisted in the Cheshire Rgt on the
13th September 1917 and that his number was 53213.   The card also states
that he was discharged from the Army on the 20th September 1918 under
King's Regulations Para 392 (xvi) which translates into "No longer fit for
war service".    He died 7 weeks later.

Buried on the 21st November 1918.

Listed as N. Circuitt on the Sale Cenotaph.

His father died 30th April 1949 - aged: 74.   His mother died 29th April
1960 - aged: 85.
