1911 Census - 9 Belmont Grove, Hulme, Manchester.   Son - aged: 13 -
Scholar - born: Manchester.    Head of household - William Jones - Married

Employed pre-war by Mr. Newton, Baker & Corn  Dealer, Broadheath. 

Formerly 29704 South Lancashire Rgt.

Killed by liquid fire - flame thrower.   Managed to get him back to the UK,
but only as far as Dover where he died in Dover Hospital.

The 30/04/1918 edition of the local newspaper reported his funeral at Sale.
   His body was laid on a gun carriage and 12 soldiers from the Heaton Park
Depot formed a guard of honour.    Bugler Mayor sounded the last post.

Buried 29/04/1918 - Burial No. 15,611.

His mother - Susannah Jones died in 1923, aged: 66.  His father - William
Jones died in 1933, aged: 75.   His brother - Ernest Jones died in 1936,
aged: 55.

Lane, Sale.   Died of Burns.   Awarded a weekly Pension of 6/- w.e.f. the
11th October 1918.
