Born during the June quarter 1888 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/172, the
only son of Alexander & Annie Dodd (nee Hampson).

1891 Census - 28 Albion Street, Bulk, Lancashire.   Son - aged: 2 - born:
Ashton upon Mersey.   Head of household - Married - aged: 32 - occ: Picture
Frame Maker - born: Ashton upon Mersey.  Also - Annie Dodd - Wife - aged:
36 - born: Stretford.   Plus 3 sisters.

1901 Census - Elm Grove, Ashton upon Mersey.   Son - aged: 12 - born: Sale.
   Head of household - Alexander Dodd - Married - aged: 42 - occ: Picture
Frame Maker - born: Ashton upon Mersey.   Also - Annie Dodd - Wife - aged:
46 - born: Stretford.  Plus 5 sisters.

His father - Alexander Dodd died during the September quarter 1901, aged:
42.

1911 Census - 10 Garden Vue, Cross Street, Ashton upon Mersey.    Boarder -
aged: 22 - occ: Labourer - born: Sale.  One of two boarders with 39 year
old dressmaker Miss Mary Emily  Moore, who he later married.  His mother
and 5 of his sisters were then residing at 6 Jackson Street, Stretford. 

Married - Mary Emily Moore during the December quarter 1914 in the Bucklow
R.D. - ref: 8a/317.  There were no children

Employed at the Westinghouse Works, Trafford Park, though not listed on
their RoH.   Previously a Sergeant in the Cheshire Cadets.

Enlisted in 1914.   After his death, Lance Corporal M. Raftery RAMC wrote
home saying that during a bombardmant Private Dodd was hit on the head by a
piece of shrapnel and died soon afterwards and that he had helped to bury
him.

Death reported in the 15/09/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guardian, that
also stated that his mother was living at 194 Mount Pleasant, Cross St,
Sale.

CWGC - Son of Annie and the late Alexander Dodd husband of Mary Emily Dodd,
of 9, Garden View, Cross St., Sale, Cheshire.  They record him as being 35
years of aged when killed, but he was actually only 28 year of age.
