Born at Sale on the 26th October 1889, the birth being registered during
the December quarter 1889 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/179, the
youngest son of Samuel & Margaret Walker (nee Hill).

1891 Census - 14 Wythenshawe Road, Sale.   Son (listed as Edgar Walker) -
aged:1 - born: Sale.   Head of household - Samuel Walker - Married - aged:
36 - occ: Stationer - born: Manchester.  Also - Margaret Walker - Wife -
aged: 37 - born: Preston, Lancashire.   Plus 2 elder siblings, his maternal
grandmother and 1 domestic servant.   

1901 Census - The Limes, Broad Road, Sale.   Son (listed as Samuel E.
Wwlaker) - aged: 11 - born: Sale.   Head of household - Samuel Walker -
Married - aged: 46 - occ: Stationer & Printer - born: Manchester.  Also -
Margaret Walker - Wife - aged: 47 - born: Preston, Lancashire.   Plus 3
elder siblings, 1 elderly visitor and 1 domestic servant.

His mother - Margaret Walker died in 1908 - aged: 55.   His father married
Margaretta Ann Bourne during the March quarter 1909.

1911 Census - No Trace.   His parents were still residing at The Limes,
Broad Road, Sale.  Samuel Walker - Married - aged: 56 - occ: Stationer &
Printer - born: Manchester.   Also - Margaretta Ann Walker - Wife - born:
Macclesfield, Cheshire.   Plus 1 domestic servant.

His father was a Councillor for the West Ward of the Sale District
Council.

His Canadian attestation form, signed on the 27th September 1915, at
Vancouver, British Colombia, states that he was 26 years of age, 5 feet 7
inches in height, had a 35¼/2½ inch chest (fully expanded).   His
complexion was: ruddy, his eyes: blue and his hair: dark.    The papers
also state that he was a Musician by trade and that, he had not previously
served any military force.

Religion - C of E.   He was unmarried and listed his father - Samuel
Walker, The Limes, Sale, England, as his next of kin.  His father was a
member of the Manchester Reform Club.

Commemorated on he family gravestone in Sale Cemetery - M.569.

His father - Samuel Walker, died 4th December 1947, aged: 92 and his Mother
- Margaret Walker, died 29th July 1908, aged: 55.
