Born during the March quarter 1887 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/667, the
son of Hugh & Mary Anne Williamson.

Mentioned in the Royal Flying Corps Communiques of 1915 - 1918.

Communiqué No. 41 (29th June - 6th July 1916) - The weather was fine on
the 2nd July, but there was a good deal of cloud cover during the morning. 
 Successful reconnaissances were carried out on all the Army fronts.   2nd
Lt. Williamson was listed as being missing on the 2nd July 1916.

The Allies held the balance of power in the air as they had gathered a
force of ten squadrons - 185 aircraft against a German strength of 129
aircraft.    The Germans were blind because of the British air superiority,
the German observation aircraft were soon seen off and their balloons were
shot down as soon as they appeared.

Commemorated on the family gravestone in Sale Cemetery, which states that
he died on the Somme.

His father - Hugh Williamson died on the 25th February 1924 and his Mother
- Mary Anne Williamson, died on the 2nd January 1927.
