He was a Chorister at St. John's Church and a member of the Altrincham St. John's Church Lads Brigade. Originally employed by David Morrison & Son, Altrincham, but later in the Offices of Messrs. Barlow Ltd. Granby Row, Altrincham. Enlisted on the 24/02/1917 (aged 18) and was drafted to France in December 1917. The 18/10/191`8 edition of the local newspaper reported that he was missing WEF 11/09/1918 and news of him was requested. The 10/01/1919 edition of the local newspaper states that he was serving with the 11th Platoon of 'C' Company - 15th Bn. LNLR. The 17/01/1919 edition of the local newspaper states that he was known to have been wounded in the Moeures neighbourhood on the 11/09/1918 when he went missing. | |||
