Baptised at St. John's P.C., Altrincham on the 14th August 1895. 1901 Census - "Rother Wood" Park Road, Hale. Son - aged: 6 - born: Altrincham. Head of household - John Shaw - Married - aged: 36 - occ: Cab Proprietor - born: Altrincham. Also - Sarah A Shaw - Wife - aged: 33 - born: Millington, Cheshire Plus 3 siblings and 1 boarder. 1911 Census - 63 Park Road Hale. Son - aged: 15 - occ: Office Boy - born: Altrincham. Head of household - John Shaw - Married - aged: 46 - occ: Coachman (Domestic) - born: Altrincham. Also - Sarah Annie Shaw - Wife - aged: 43 - born: Bucklow Hill, Cheshire Plus 4 siblings and his paternal grandfather. First entered France in August 1915. Missing 01/07/1916 death confirmed in the 29th June 1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian. Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1918. Soldiers Died lists his service number as 240661. Commemorated on the private family gravestone in St. Mary's, Bowdon. Grave No. 1373.
