The local newspaper states that he enlisted in the Cheshire Yeomanry in October 1914 - transferred to the Lancers in 1917 and again into the Royal Engineers. [I can find no R.E. deaths matching these details]. Wounded at Cambrai and was also suffering from shell shock. Death reported in the 29/11/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian. | |||
