Born on the 3rd December 1863, the birth being registered during the March quarter 1864 in the Sheppey R.D. (Kent) - ref: 2a/697, the son of Walton & Eliza Tennant (nee Bradbury). The family moved to Sheerness, Kent returning to Manchester c1872. 1881 Census - 14 Varley Street, Newton, Prestwich. Son - aged: 17 - occ: Apprentice Photographer - born: Sheerness Kent. Head of Household - Walton Tennant - Married - aged: 51 - occ: Engine Fitter - born: Manchester. Also - Eliza Tennant - Wife - aged: 48 - born: Pontefract, Yorkshire. Plus 5 brothers. Married Mary E. Ratcliffe during the December quarter 1913 in the Manchester R.D. ref: 8d/339. Mary died in April 1921, aged: 29, and is buried in the same grave at Manchester (Philips Park) Cemetery. 1939 National Registration - 72 Osborne Street, Manchester. John A. Tennant - Married - born: 3rd December 1963 - occ: Caretaker. Appear to have been lodging with the Clough family. Death registered in Manchester City. CWGC - of 15 Lucy Street, Old Trafford. Injured 23 December 1940, at Lucy Street; died at Royal Infirmary. |
