B.SC. (Engineering) University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. Joined the Metro-Vicker's Company as a College Apprentice in October 1934 and on completion of his apprenticeship in August 1936 joined the staff of the Genearl Engineering Department. Joined the RAFVR as a Pilot Officer in August 1940 having previously served in the South African Air Force. Presumed KinA whilst on air operations over enemy territory in April 1941. Flying in Wellington T2473, WS-M, on bombing mission to Berlin. Shot down and crashed at Veldhausen, 12 km NW of Nordhorn, Germany. |
