Born during the June quarter 1900 in the Bucklow R.D. ref: 8a/171, the son of Henry John & Sarah Simper (nee Birley). 1901 Census - 27 Albion Street, Sale. Son - aged: 1 - born: Sale. Head of household - Henry T. Simper - Married - aged: 41 - occ: Cab Driver - born: Newark, Nottinghamshire. Also - Sarah Simper - Wife - aged: 32 - born: Doncaster, Yorkshire. Plus 4 elder siblings. 1911 Census - 27 Albion Street, Sale. Son - aged: 11 - Scholar - born: Sale. Head of household - Henry John Simper - Married - aged: 49 - occ: Hackney Cab Driver (4 wheeler) - born: Newark, Nottinghamshire. Also - Sarah Simper - Wife - aged: 41- born: Wadsworth, Yorkshire. Plus 3 elder siblings. Henry & Sarah produced 9 children, but by now 4 had died. No trace CWGC nor SDGW. It is believed that Harold actually survived WW1 as in 1939, he is residing at 57 Derbyshire Road South, Sale. Harold Simper - Married - born on the 3rd March 1900 - occ: Engineering Clerk. Martha A. Simper - Married - born on the 20th May 1899 - occ: Unpaid Domestic Duties. Plus three children (1 redacted). He died in 1974. |
