Born during the December quarter 1887 in the Cockermouth R.D. - ref: 10b/546. 1891 Census - No Trace. 1901 Census - No Trace. 1911 Census - 78 Jackson Street, Stretford. Boarder - aged: 23 - occ: Cutter Fancy Box Works. Boarding with Herbert & Martha Elizabeth Applyard and their 4 daughters, including Lilian Mary Applyard, aged: 19 and employed as a Fancy Box Maker - his future wife. Married Lilian Mary Appleyard during the September quarter 1912 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/1333. They presumably resided on Trafford Grove on whose Street War Memorial he is commemorated. Formerly 203626 - Manchester Rgt. Died at the 1st London General Hospital - R.A.M.C., Myatts Park, Camberwell. Buried 15/05/1918 - Burial No. 8,289 in the Appleyard family grave. Presumably resided M.I. - "Old Pal". Spelt Sargerson on the Stretford Cenotaph. His widow - Lilian Mary Sarginson married Sidney G. Fife in 1924. |
