Born 20/04/1893, the birth being registered during the June quarter 1893 in
the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/755, the son of Major James Stott &
Mary Jane Stott (nee Faulkner).

1901 Census - Abbostford, Flixton Road, Flixton.   Son - aged: 7 - born:
Flixton.   Head of household - James Stott - Married - aged: 49 - occ:
Bleacher & Dyer of Cotton & Linen - born: Flixton.   Also - Mary J. Stott -
Wife - aged: 50 - born: Urmston.   Plus 6 elder siblings and 2 domestic
servants.

1911 Census - No Trace.

Previously 2202 - 1/6th Bn Manchester Rgt serving at Gallipoli with the
42nd Division.

Soldier's Medical Records - Admission & Discharge Register for Medical
Research Committee, Statistical Department, 34 Guilford Street, Russel
Square, London.  Roll No. 752.  Aged: 22 - Service 1 1/12 - Service in the
Command 2/12.  Suffering from Dysentery,  Admitted 15/10/1915 and discharge
on the 21/01/1916.

De Ruvigney's Roll of Honour - Portrait photograph of him.  Employed in a
Manchester Shipping Warehouse.  Volunteered for active service on the 28th
August 1914, soon after the outbreak of war.  Served in Egypt in September
1914 and at Gallipoli from May 1915.  He was invalided home suffering from
Septic Poisoning and Jaundice in October 1915.  On partial recovery, he
served at home in the Labour Corps until his death on the 4th February
1919.

Commemorated on the Manchester Grammar School War Memorial and in the
School's Memorial Book.

His father Major James Stott died 26/10/1934 and his mother Mary Jane Stott
died 11/09/1929.
