I CAN ONLY FIND A FRANK ROSCOE AT ALTRINCHAM.  NO TRACE WHATSOEVER OF A
HUMPHREY ROSCOE.

Born during the September quarter 1888 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref:
8a/174, the son of Frank & Eliza Roscoe.

Christened at St. John's P.C., Altrincham on the 9th September 1888.   Son
of Frank & Eliza Roscoe.

1891 Census - 10 Tipping Street, Altrincham.   Nephew - aged: 2 - born:
Altrincham.   Head of household - Henry Jones - Married - aged: 42 - occ:
Gardener - born: Cheshire.   Also - Hannah Jones - Wife - aged: 41 - born:
Worsley.   Plus their 3 sons aged: 5, 10 & 11.

1901 Census - 10 Tipping Street, Altrincham.   Nephew - aged: 12 - born:
Altrincham.   Head of household - Henry Jones - Married - aged: 51 - occ:
Gardener - born: Ashton upon Mersey.   Also - Hannah Jones - Wife - aged:
50 - born: Worsley.   Plus their 3 sons aged: 15, 19 & 20.

Married Maud Uipton at Ramsbottom Registry Office on the 11th June 1910. 
During the June quarter 1910 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/1478.

1911 Census - 91 Ogden Lane, Higher Openshaw.   Head - Married - aged: 21 -
occ: Wheel Turning (Locomotive Maker) - born: Altrincham.   Also - Maud
Roscoe - Wife - aged: 21 - born: Irlam.

WO363 - Attested at Manchester into the 11th Bn, Lancashire Fusiliers and
posted to Bury on the 10th November 1914.  Recorded as residing at 1
Harewood Street, Hulme, Manchester.  He was aged: 26 years 2 months and
employed as a Trucker in Milk.  He was 5 feet 4 1/2 inches in height and
had an expanded chest measurement of 34 1/2 inches with a 2 1/2 inch
expansion.   He was a time expired member of the 8th Ardwick Territorials  
  Posted to France on the 25th September 1915.  Taken PoW during the night
of the 27th/28th May 1918.  Repatriated to England on the 8th December
1918.  Granted a 40/- per week pension w.e.f. the 21st November 1919 "for
as long as in an Asylum Condition".  There is a note on his file written to
the War Pensions stating that his Army records do not show any reference to
any hospitalisation, but does confirm that he was a PoW from the 27th May
to the 8th December 1918.

Died during the December quarter 1923 in the Prestwich R.D. - ref: 8d/356 -
aged: 35.
