Grandson - aged: 4 - born: Altrincham. Head od household - William Priestner - Married - aged: 72 - occ: Wheelwright - born: Bollington, Cheshire. Also - Ann Priestner - Wife - aged: 73 - born: Altrincham. Plus - his father - Charles H. Priestner - Married - aged: 30 - occ: Wheelwright - born: Altrincham. Plus his mother - Hannah Priestner - Married - aged: 33 - born; Timperley. Plus 3 of his siblings. 1911 Census - 64 Manor Road, Altrincham. Son - aged: 14 - occ: Apprentice Plaining Joiner. Head of household - Charles Henry Priestner - Married - aged: 40 - occ: Wheelwright - born: Altrincham. Also - Hannah Priestner - Wife - aged: 43 - born: Altrincham. Plus 3 elder siblings. Commemorated on the private family gravestone in Hale Cemetery. His Father, Charles Henry died 04/11/1952 aged 82 years and his mother, Hannah died 04/04/1926 aged 58 years. The 03/01/1917 edition of the Stretford Division Advertiser reports that William has been awarded the Military Medal. He was recorded as residing at Oak Cottage, Bollington and worked as a Gardener for Mrs. Gaddum, Green Walk, Bowdon. The 03/05/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian reported on a Lance Corporal William Priestner MM being missing and a POW ??? Pension Record - Mother: Mrs Hannah Cooper Piestner, 64 Manor Road, Altrincham, Awarded a weekly pension of 6/- w.e.f. the 6th May 1919. NOT COMMEMORATED BY THE CWGC. |
