Unable to trace him on any census returns Born Sep 1887 - according to death registration. Appointed - Sub-Lieutenant w.e.f. the 17th August 1914 and promoted to full Lieutenant on the 1st July 1917. Died from Pneumonia contracted on the 15th September 1917, whilst serving on the Mersey Examination ship the S.S. Galatea, examining the Mersey Channels. This was an Arethusa-class cruiser intended to lead destroyer flotillas and defend the fleet against attacks by enemy destroyers. Death registered during the September quarter 1917 in the West Derby R.D. - ref: 8b/232 - aged: 30.
