Attended Seamons Moss School. Employed by a Sale Decorator. Member of St John's Ambulance Brigade. Joined the RN in May 1940 Lost in the cargo ship S.S. "Clarissa Radcliffe", which was a straggler in Convoy SC122. South of Halifax it was last seen after a storm on the 9th March. It is believed that it was torpedoed by U663 that reported sinking a ship on the 18th March with a four torpedoe spread and sunk in position 42N 62W. All 52 of the ships crew and passengers were lost - there were no survivors. |
