Born during the December quarter 1922 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/897, the daughter of Arthur Sydney & Nellie Norton (nee Wright). 1939 National Registration - 90 Urmston Lane, Stretford. Arthur S. Norton - Married - Born: 14th February 1880 - occ: Engineer's Pattern Maker. Nellie Norton - Married - Born: 25th February 1886 - occ: Unpaid Domestic Duties. Irene Norton - Single - Born: 6th November 1916 - occ: Cost Clerk Makers & Confectioner. Frank M. Norton - Single - Born: 5th June 1919 p- occ: Despatch & Shipping Clerk, Cable Manufacturer. There was one redacted record at this address - presumably this was their daughter - Joyce Norton b.1922. CWD Report No. 81. Died at 90 Urmston Lane, Stretford, from where her body was recovered at 10.00 hrs on the 24th December 1940 and taken to the City Road Mortuary, Old Trafford. Her body was identified by her brother - Kenneth Norton, 195 Winchester Road, Urmston and released for burial to the Council's Undertaker Contractor - R. Pepperdine, 31 Ayres Road, Old Trafford. Described as being 5 feet 2 inches in height and of slight build with brown hair. Employed as a Clerk. Joyce's parents and sister Irene,were killed in this incident.
