Born in 1897 at Cork, Southern Ireland, the eldest son of William Henry &
Catherine Moore (nee Smith).

1901 Census - No Trace - his father may have still been serving in Ireland,
or in South Africa?

1911 Census -  59 Chapel Road, Sale.     Son - aged: 14 - occ: Manchester
Tramway Parcel Delivery - born: Cork, Ireland.     Head of household -
William Henry Moore - Married - aged: 40 - occ: Soldier, Colour Segt
Instructor - born: Chester, Cheshire.    Also - Catherine Moore - Wife -
aged: 35 - born: At Sea.    Plus 3 younger siblings.

Attended Springfield Road School and was a Member of St. Paul's Church.

Enlisted in early 1916 and took part in the Mesopotamia Campaign.

Wounded on the 14th August with a gunshot wound to his right hand and he
was in hospital abroad.

Died of Dysentry (infected whilst in hospital ???)

His brother - Private John Moore was serving in the Monmouth Rgt, formerly
a Motor Driver with Messrs. Royle, School Rd, Sale.

Death reported in the 24/09/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

His father was formerly an Instructor to the Sale & Ashton on Mersey
Company of Territorials.

There are two William Henry Moore's - both are listed on St. Paul's
Memorial, but only one of them is listed on the Cenotaph.

Commemorated on the family grave in Brooklands Cemetery.
