Born during the March quarter 1881 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/180, the son of George Charles & Caroline Mattinson (nee Kenworthy). His father died in 1885, aged: 46. His mother - Caroline Mattinson, then married Douglas Gelling Mattinson during the December quarter 1889 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/269. 1891 Census - 299 Northenden Road, Sale.
