Born during the September quarter 1898 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/911, the eldest son of John Munro & Martha Mackintosh (nee Frost). 1901 Census - 38 Robert Street, Chorlton on Medlock, Manchester. Son - aged: 2 - born: Manchester. Head of household - John M. Mackintosh - Married - aged: 40 - occ: Draper & Clothier - born: Scotland. Also - Martha Mackintosh - Wife - aged: 32 - born: Manchester. Plus 3 younger siblings and a domestic servant. 1911 Census - No Trace. A Metro-Vickers Trade Apprentice 1915 to 1917. Pension Records. Dependant: Mrs. Martha Mackintosh (Mother), 119 Norwood Road, Stretford. Awarded a weekly pension of 3/6d w.e.f. the 9th July 1918. This was icreased to 5/- per week w.e.f. the 6th November 1918. There was fighting near to the Ypres-Commines Canal on the 17th December 1917. |
