Born during the December quarter 1917 in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/240. Attended Springfield Senior School. Played football for Roebuck Lane Juniors. Employed as a Bricksetter by J. Maunders Ltd of Stretford. Joined the Army in 1941. His last letter home was from Belgium. He left a widow and 2 sons - George, aged 7 and - Brian, aged 6. M.I. - "Linked by a love that no parting can destroy". Death reported in the 06/10/1944 edition of the Altrincham Guardian. The RoH in the 21/09/1945 edition of the local newspaper states that he was Kia at Lommel, Holland. |
