Born during the June quarter 1893 in the Salford R.D. - ref: 8d/69, the only child of Ernest & Martha Maskrey (nee Moulstone). 1901 Census - 9, Chadwick Lane, Urmston. Son - aged: 7 - born: Salford. Head of household - Ernest Maskrey - Married - aged: 33 - occ: Teamsman on Farm - born: Wirksworth, Derbyshire. Also - Martha Maskrey - Wife - aged: 33 - occ: Laundress - born: Newport, Shropshire. Plus 1 boarder. 1911 Census - 9 Chadwick Lane, Urmston, Urmston. Son - aged: 17 - occ: Clerk - born: Higher Broughton, Salford. Head of household - Martha Maskrey - Widow - aged: 43 - occ: General Domestic Servant - born: Edgmond, Newport, Shropshire. Belgian M.I. - "Duty nobly done". Commemorated on the private family gravestone in Urmston Cemetery, which states that he died on the 27th. His father, Ernest died 13/01/1905 aged 38 years and his mother, Martha died 28/04/1914 aged 47 years. Also commemorated in the Manchester City Battalion's Roll of Honour Book. |
