Born Marjorie West on the 19th November 1911, the birth being registered during the March quarter 1912 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/1632, the daughter of William and Eliza Ann West (nee Greaves) Her parents were residing at 12 January Street, Chorlton upon Medlock, Manchester in 1911 which is probably where Marjorie was born. Her father was then employed as a Postman. 1921 Census - 280, Upper Brook Street, Chorlton upon Medlock, South Manchester. Daughter - aged: 9 - born: Manchester. Head of household - William West - Married - aged: 54 - occ: School Attendance Officer at Deansgate Manchester - born: Manchester. Also - Eliza Ann West - Wife - aged: 53 - occ: Home Duties - born: Aldershot, Hampshire. Plus 4 elder siblings. Married William Mason Kennedy in July 1934, the marriage being registered during the September quarter 1934 in the Manchester South R.D. - ref: 8d/371. 1939 National Registration - 3 Eaton Drive, Altrincham, Cheshire. Marjorie Kennedy - Born on the 19th November 1911 - Married - occ: A.R.P. Telephonist Altrincham Brorough (now Unemployed). No-one else recorded at this address. No trace of William - serving perhaps? Died 06 January 1945 age 32 years of ulcer of cecal wall at the Royal Naval Sick Quarters, Cardiff. Death reported in the 10th January 1945 edition of the Manchester Evening News. The reports states that she died after an operation and that her husband Corporal W.M. Kennedy had returned to the U.K. after four years service in the Middle East. The report also stated that pre-War they had both resided at Timperley.
