I am most grateful to Jorg Bauw of the Netherlands for the following
information. Jorg has 'adopted' Thomas' grave in Venray Cemetery

Thomas died close to the town of Helden After Tilburg they went to a
district called "de Peel", near the River Maas. The battle around Helden
was really tough. The Germans had deported around 800 Helden residents to
Germany to work. Helden had a big Dutch resistance network that helped
crashed Allied pilots to get out of the area and hide out.

Thomas was temporarily buried in the town of Helden, Netherlands. On the
2nd November 1946 the CWGC 'concentrated' his remains into the Venray
British War Cemetery.
