Baptised at St. John the Divine, Brooklands on the 6th March 1897. 1901 Census - 12 Beaufort Avenue, Sale. Son - aged: 4 - born: Brooklands, Sale. Head of household - Alfred G. Hough - Married - aged: 39 - occ: Mercantile Clerk - born: Manchester. Also Clara A. Hough - Wife - aged: 39 - born: Manchester. Plus 1 younger sister and 1 domestic servant. 1911 Census - 12 Beaufort Avenue, Sale. Son - aged: 14 - born: Brooklands, Sale. Head of household - Alfred Goadsby Hough - Married - aged: 45 - occ: Traffic Agent - born: Manchester. Also Clara Alice Hough - Wife - aged: 39 - born: Manchester. Plus 1 domestic servant. Attended Bowdon College. Member of Brooklands Hockey and Cricket Clubs. Enlisted in the Public Schools Bn of the Royal Fusiliers and later commissioned in the K.R.R.C. and drafted to the front in April 1917. Gazetted on the 1st March 1917 to Temporary 2nd Lieutenant. Officer Commanding the 214th Prisoner of War Coy. Died of Pneumonia in the trenches. Death reported in the 20/09/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian. M.I.
