Born at Rostherne during the June quarter 1911 in the Altrincham R.D. -
ref: 8a/193, the son of Nebo Taylor & Frances Alice Henshall (nee Davies).

In 1911 his parents and siblings were residing at Rostherne Village.   His
father - Nebo Taylor Henshall - Married - aged: 37 - occ: Drainer To Lord
Egerton of Satton - born: Henbury, Cheshire.   His mother - Frances Alice
Hanshall - Wife - aged: 35 - born: Middlewich, Cheshire. They had 2 sons
and 1 daughter aged: 9, 8 & 1, all born at Rostherne.

Lived at Stamford New Rd, Altrincham before moving to Sale.

Married Margaret A. Hill during the September quarter 1935 in the Bucklow
R.D. - ref: 8a/649.

By 1943, Arnold and Frances were residing at Old Hall Road, Sale Moor.

Joined the Army just after war broke out and was posted overseas in October
1941.     One of three brothers - William was serving in Malta and Albert
in Scotland.

The North African Campaign took place in North Africa from the 10th June
1940 to the 13th May 1943.   It included campaigns fought in the Libyan and
Egyptian deserts (Western Desert Campaign, also known as the Desert War)
and in Morocco and Algeria (Operation Torch) and Tunisia (Tunisia
Campaign).

During this campaign, Tripoli was an important Axis base until taken by
Montgomery's forces on 23 January 1943.   It then became a hospital centre,
and the burials in the war cemetery were almost entirely from the
hospitals, which included Nos 2, 48 and 133 General Hospitals from March
1943, and No 89 General Hospital from April 1944.

His death was reported in the 09/04/1944 edition of the Sale & Stretford
Guardian.

Left a widow with three young children, his youngest daughter, Barbara, was
just one week old when he went overseas.
