Born during the December quarter 1939 in the Blackpool R.D. - ref: 8e/1161, the daughter of Charles & Hilda Hughes (nee Williams). Actually 14 months old. CWD Report No. 84. Died as a result of blast at 397 Chester Road, Stretford, from where her body was recovered on the 23rd December 1940 and taken to the City Road Mortuary, Old Trafford. Her body was identified by her grandmother (Lyons) and released for burial to the Council's Undertaker Contractor - R. Pepperdine, 31 Ayres Road, Old Trafford. Described as being 2 feet 6 inches in height, with golden hair and plump build. Killed along with her mother and brother at 397 Chester Road, Stretford. Buried 30/12/1940 - Burial No. 17,880. |
