Born during the March quarter 1936 in the Barton on Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/751, only child of Tom & Clara Heapy (nee Gibson). 1939 National Registration - 218 Winchester Road, Stretford. Tom Heapy - Married - Born: 11th June 1907 - occ: Storekeeper & A.F.S. Stretford. Clara Heapy - Married - Born: 20th October 1909 - occ: Unpaid Domestic Duties. There is one other record that has been redacted - presumably their daughter - Barbara Heapy who was also killed i n this incident. Tom was saved by being on duty fire fighting somewhere (Trafford Park ???). CWD Report No. 33. Died as a result of blast at 11 Coniston Road, Stretford from where her body was recovered on the 24th December 1940 and taken to the City Road Mortuary, Old Trafford. Her body was identified by her maternal grandfather - Sam Gibson and released for burial to W.H. Hesketh & Son (Undertakers), 2 Stretford Road, Manchester. Described as 3 feet in height, of slight build with brown hair. Death registered in Stretford Borough. Buried on the 31st December 1940. Her mother - Clara Heapy was also killed in this incident. CWGC - Daughter of Tom Heapy, of 218 Winchester Road, and of Clara Heapy. Died at 11 Coniston Road. |
