Born during the December quarter 1887 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/171,
the son of Henry & Hannah Hatton (nee Kirkham).

1891 Census - Moss Lane, Mobberley.   Son - aged: 3 - born: Mobberley.  
Head of household - Henry Hatton - Married - aged: 48 - occ: Hay Cutter -
born: Fulshaw, Cheshire.    Also Hannah Hatton - Wife - aged: 42 - occ: Hay
Cutter - born: Mobberley.   Plus 6 siblings.

1901 Census - Moss Lane, Mobberley.   Son - aged: 13 - born: Mobberley.  
Head of household - Henry Hatton - Married - aged: 58 - occ: Farmer - born:
Alderley Edge, Cheshire.    Also Hannah Hatton - Wife - aged: 51 - occ: Hay
Cutter - born: Mobberley.   Plus 5 siblings.

1911 Census - No Trace.

WO 363 - Enlisted at Knutsford on the 17th August 1915.  He was aged 27
years 10 months and employed as a Farm Labourer.  He was 5 feet 4 inches in
height and weighed 128 lb.

Admitted into No. 12 General Hospital on the 10th March 1916, suffering
from Scabies.  Discharged and rejoined his Bn on the 7th April.

He joined the 13th Bn, Cheshire Rgt "In the Field" on the 19th May 1916.  
Wounded on the 7th July 1916 with a shrapnel wound to his thigh and smashed
femur.  Sent to 36 Field Ambulance on the 8th and straight onto 38 Casualty
Clearing Centre suffering from a GSW to his left leg.  Sent down to 13
General Hospital, Boulogne on the 9th.   Repatriated back to England on the
18th July 1916 aboard the H.S. "Cambria" (Hospital Ship).

Admitted to the East Suffolk and Ipswich Hospital on the 18th July 1916. 
That's 11 days afyer being wounded !!!   He died at 09.45 hrs on the 19th
from Amputation of his left thigh and Haemorrhage

Personal effects sent to William Hatton (eldest brother), Mosscroft, Moss
Lane, Knutsford.   His family's declaration of relatives shows that he had
7 brothers and 4 sisters.

Death reported in the 28/07/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.
