Born during the December quarter 1893 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/671, the only son of George Percy & Florence Lawton Haworth (nee Wilkinson). 1901 Census - Stamford Road, Bowdon. Son - aged: 7 - born: Barton. Head of household - George P. Haworth - Married - aged: 42 - occ: Solicitor - born: Pendleton, Manchester. Also - Florence L. Haworth - Wife - aged: 33 - born: Heaton Norris, Stockport. Plus 2 domestic servants. 1911 Census - Marlborough College, Marlborough. Pupil - aged: 17 - born: Barton upon Irwell. At this time his parents were residing at Bayfield House, Stamford Road. Articled to his father, a solicitor whose practice was at 19 Chapel Walks, Manchester. A keen golfer and member of Bowdon Golf Club.# MIC - confirms his rank and Bn. It also states that he went to France in 1915. Awarded the 15 Star, the BWM & the VM. His father's address was given as Bayfield House, Stamford Road. Enlisted in the Public Schools Bn on 8th September 1914. Commissioned in the Manchester Rgt in January 1915 and drafted to the front in November 1915. Reported as missing in the 15/08/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guadian.
